ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - The Lewis women's basketball team hosts Ferris State on Tuesday evening at 5 p.m. Lewis enters the contest looking for their third straight win. The Flyers defeated St. Francis on Saturday evening 91-78. The Flyers held a 42-31 edge in rebounds, including a 15-10 advantage on the offensive glass. The difference in the game came at the line. The Flyers made 32-of-39 free throws while St. Francis connected on 20-of-27 at the charity stripe.

TWO SCORE 20: The Flyers had two individuals hit 20 points in Saturday's  victory over St. Francis. Redshirt freshman Devon Carbaugh scored a career-high 29 points. Sophomore Jenny Turpel added 20. Last year the Flyers had only three performances of 20 plus points. With Turpel's 22 against Robert Morris the Flyers have already matched that total.

MORE ON CARBAUGH: Redshirt freshman Devon Carbaugh's 29 points were impressive, but she could of hit 30. Carbaugh was 10-of-12 at the free throw line, including a miss with 3:39 left. She regrouped to score five points after the miss to get to 29, but the clock hit all zeros before she could hit 30.

ONE AND....THE BONUS: The Flyers made 32 free throws on Saturday vs. St. Francis. It was the Flyers most made free throws in a game since they connected on 35 vs. Grand Valley State on Dec. 30, 2000.

CAREER HIGHS FOR CURRIN: In Saturday's victory over St. Francis sophomore Kady Currin set career highs in assists (7) and rebounds (8) while throwing in 10 points.

MONACO STARTS: Sophomore Kelly Monaco drained three treys in her first career start on Saturday against St. Francis.

YOUNG FLYERS: The current Flyers starting lineup features three sophomores, a redshirt freshman and one senior. The lineup has 91 career starts, with senior Jenna Mooberry holding over half (47) of those. Turpel started 19 games and Currin started 12 as freshmen last year. Carbaugh and Monaco entered the season with zero career starts.

90 IS NICE: The Flyers turned up the offensive heat on Saturday, scoring 91 points in the victory over St. Francis. It was the first time the Flyers had scored 90 plus points since dropping 92 on the Panthers of Kentucky Wesleyan on Jan. 25, 2007. The Flyers scored 90 plus three times during the GLVC Championship run of 2006-07. They hit the 90 mark in back-to-back victories over Missouri-Rolla (91-77, Jan. 20, 2007) and Southern Indiana (92-72, Jan. 25, 2007).

CLOSING IN ON 500: The Flyers need two more wins to reach 500 program victories. The all-time Lewis University women's basketball record is 498-411. Should the Flyers win on Tuesday Lewis could record their 500th win is on the road vs. Colorado State-Pueblo on Nov. 28.

GOOD TO BE HOME: Last season the Flyers didn't host their first home game until Dec. 30 against Saginaw Valley State. This season Lewis has six home games before the 30th of December, including a conference date with Southern Indiana on Dec. 4.

OUT OF THE GLVC AT HOME: Last year the Flyers played only one non-conference home game, Saginaw Valley State. This year the Flyers scheduled five non-GLVC schools at Neil Carey Arena.

VS. THE BULLDOGS: The series between the Bulldogs and Flyers is tied at 4-4, but the Flyers have won the last three meetings. The last contest came two years ago on Nov. 21, 2006 at Neil Carey Arena when the Flyers won by a 72-69 score. Jenna Mooberry had eight points off the bench in the game.

ABOUT THE BULLDOGS: Ferris State is 1-1 on the young season. Tuesday's contest will be the third straight for the Bulldogs against a  Great Lakes Valley Conference team. Ferris State defeated Kentucky Wesleyan 83-77 and fell to Indianapolis 68-62. Teghan Thelen scored 36 against Kentucky Wesleyan and 26 in the loss to Indianapolis. The contest with the Greyhounds was tied at 59 with 1:35 left but Indianapolis pulled away down the stretch. Thelen was a pre-season All-GLIAC North Division selection.  The Bulldogs were picked for third in the GLIAC North according to the GLIAC's media poll.
