Sept. 16, 2008 GEORGETOWN, Ky. - Sophomore Logan Watts tied for fourth overall with a 142 (73-69) to help the Flyers to third place at the Northern Kentucky University Fall Invitational at Cherry Blossom Golf Course. Watts was one of five Flyers to finish in the top five. Senior Greg Roderique finished tied for eighth with a 145. He carded a team-best 68 on the second day after shooting a 77 to open the tournament. Junior Josh Butterfield (72-74=164) tied for tenth, junior Paul Dagys (73-75=148) finished tied for 15th and junior Peter Tanaka (75-75=150) tied for 19th. In his first tournament as a Flyer, sophomore Josh Whiting (75-85=157) tied for 36th. The Flyers (293-286=579) topped Spalding (293-293=586), Southern Indiana (297-296=593) and Kentucky Wesleyan (303-303=606). Northern Kentucky won their home tournament (284-280=564). Bellarmine finished only two strokes ahead of Lewis (290-287=577) for second. Lewis hits the links again on Sunday at the Great Lakes Fall Regional in South Haven, Mich. |
